Project Description:
Planet Reimagined is seeking an experienced independent project finance consultant to support the financial analysis and modeling of early-stage utility-scale solar projects as part of our Common Grounds initiative. This is a project-based engagement (estimated at ~20 hours/week over a 3-month period) with a compensation rate of $60/hour. The consultant must have a strong background and successful experience in project finance, investment banking, M&A, consulting, or similar position related to renewable energy, particularly solar, with demonstrated excellence in developing and maintaining complex financial models.
Scope of Work & Deliverables:
The consultant will be expected to deliver the following:
Conduct detailed financial modeling for 5-8 utility-scale solar projects on potential sites in Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico, assessing capital needs, operating costs, and anticipated returns.
Develop and maintain financial models related to project development, by including the specifics of costing of fixed and variable costs, evaluating revenue generation potential from electricity production, while incorporating federal and local incentives, taxes, tariffs, regulatory frameworks, and forecasted revenue streams.
Perform valuation scenarios (e.g., sensitivity analyses) to explore the impact of different financing structures, cost assumptions, policy shifts, and energy market conditions on Common Grounds projects.
Recommend optimal project configurations based on yield, capital structure, incentive availability, and potential revenue streams.
Track and incorporate regulatory changes and emerging policies into financial models to ensure accurate assessments of each project’s economic potential.

Compensation and Benefits:
